It's been a slow process but I'm finally picking up steam on my truck engine. I've got the port work mostly done, so it was time to install the guides. I made this little "bottle-jack gizmo" that sits in the lifter bore so when you drive the guide in they all stop at the same height. It went really smooth & now I'm dreamin of reamin!

You flowing those ports on the bench or just using obvious knowledge to get them to flow better? Heat the block, freeze the guide?
No I didn't mess around with flowing them. Just did the basic stuff. Stuck the guides in the snowbank, little heat on the block. ZIP right in.
Wait! I spy a new lathe! WELL WELL WELL!! Are you going to install valveseat inserts?
The exhaust ports all came with inserts. The intakes are just cut into the cast iron. I already have the valvejob cut!!
