Yo DJ!

I keep getting emails from these clowns that want to contribute to this blog. First off very few people even reads blogs anymore, and secondly if you have so much motorcycle related stuff to post, START YOUR OWN BLOG!!!

It must be a scam of some sort. Do any of you others get these emails inquiring about your blogs??

I even got one about testing Chinese leather jackets and shit if I would write about it on here. Take you're Chinese junk and send it straight fucking back!!

See you in the 9's

We got the Vrod back together and down the track! We are real happy with the results for the first outing. 5psi on a street tire, lots of room for improvement!

Monster Caddy

This is what made me pull off the road.

Look at what I found.

I decided enough was enough. I wanted to go for a ride on the ticket, so I took off down the block and that's as far as I made it. I spotted this green caddy sitting outside. Made some new friends and hung out for a while. This will turn out quite fun!

No Timeslip Yet...

We got the new clutch installed Friday and went out for some more back road testing. Things were really looking good. On a return pass Jake shifted from 2nd to 3rd and the tone of the engine slightly changed. He backed off and to the shop we went. It was a mad thrash to see if we could find the problem and still make Saturdays race.
Long story short we couldn't sort it out in time so we stayed home.
Dug a little deeper today and found we have some valve keepers that have cracked, worked upward, disturbing the shim/bucket assembly. We lucked out though as it didn't drop any valves. So tomorrow the engine comes out of the bike and apart.

There are still a few more track days before the snow flies so wish us luck!

Testing

We took the Vrod out on a back road yesterday for some shakedown passes before we drive a couple hundred miles this weekend to the track.

It's a good thing too because we found one problem. Our Barnett clutch pack aparrently isn't compatible with Mobil 1 synthetic oil. It started slipping once we started pouring the power to it. We've got another clutch that will be here today, so back in business.

There were a lot of positive things though. It's really runs good, pulls hard, nice clean passes. The air shifter is working nice. Everything else seems to be a GO!

See you tomorrow afternoon at Cedar Falls?!??

Grab Your Hawaiian Shirt!

We're headed for Cedar Falls Raceway on Saturday to make our first passes with the turbo Vrod.

We built the turbo kit last winter and got it running in the spring but got so busy around the shop I hadn't found time to fab all the rear mounted foot controls, etc.

We've got most the electronics setup and with any luck we'll make some clean passes. I spent a little time on the tune-up before I left work and it's really sounding NICE!

Knuck Putt 2014

I was really looking forward to this years Knuck Putt. We tried to intercept them last year but we never crossed paths. Dean and I boogied up to Prescott, and then we headed south to the Nauti Hog, down thru Bay City to Maiden Rock. Jim Snow had this road he wanted to take us on down there. So we hang a left down this gravel road & came upon the sportsmen having a trap shoot with an amazing chicken dinner. We mounted up and took off back down the gravel. Jim had warned us we'd be crossing the creek 4 times on this road. MAN WHAT A BLAST!! I was leading and hit the first crossing about 25mph. The water must have shot 8ft in the air on both sides!!! You should have seen those old bikes forging the stream. Water flying, steam rollin, everyone laughing and smiling. It was just like you'd imagine these bikes went through 75 years ago. We headed back north for a final beer in RedWing then parted ways. It was really a neat day!

Wing Wednesday!

You've got to make it down to the little bar in Rollingstone for 50cent wings and $1 Busch Lights. We have really had a lot of fun riding on Wednesday nights this summer, sometimes until the sun came up!

Mt. Thompson

I got these guys back on the road this summer and this showed up in the mail awhile back.

There are still Harley dealers out there that care about, "The Tradition" as Denny would say.
