Tech Tip

I had a customer bring a wheel in with all the sprocket bolts broken. They were going to try to drill them out which most likely would have resulted in a ruined wheel. Instead I tig welded the bolts up past the surface of the hub, dropped a nut on there and welded them up.

I welded all five and then sprayed penetrating lube on them. Next fire up your torch and heat the hub until your lube is boiling and bubbling!

Once she is toasty take an ice cube and chill the bolt, leaving the hub hot. Take your wrench and start wiggling them. Little more lube and out they come leaving the threads perfectly intact!

You can use this fix on all kind of situations! Good luck!

Puttin' Dodge Back On The Map!

I hope Jordan's party has a lasting impression on everyone involved. I don't know if I've seen so many smiles and laughs in the same day. We love you Jordan and we'll all be there to help you up should you ever fall. Special thanks to Mary in Dodge, Wisconsin. There are still real genuine people and places to party out there! Thanks for the fun boys, I'm still wore out!

Been busy.

Working with the kids to build a drift missile and do a timing belt on my audi. My phone is full of pictures. No room for pics of the demolition of my greenhouse or my attempts to fire up the shovel. I need a new battery.

We Made It...

It finally cracked 60 degrees today and it's been a long time coming. We made a run through the Zumbro River valley which is one of my favorite places on earth. Main Street in Hammond was full, everyone having a drink to celebrate the weather. It felt SO GOOD to ride and feel that warmth. People from other regions of the country or the world might never know that feeling. You can tell when it leaves you in the fall, and comes back in the spring. We made it through the winter, & it feels damn good to be alive!

Spotted something while exploring

Visiting my family in PA this weekend. My cousin took Ashlee and I around to check out Amish country and Lancaster city. We spotted this old Chevy wagon. Can you imagine the snow piling up on them fins?? Later we loaded up his lighting equip and set up for a local salsa show. Then we went to Lancaster brewery for my brother's birthday and BEER.

Things I See

The fish are getting big, Shea's going faster, Mikey's getting laced, and I'm just laid up here in a country state of mind, eating the best smoked venison ribs you've ever dreamed of!

Giddy Up!

It's official, Jordan's pulling the trigger, so we're going to have one hell of a party. Ride leaves at noon sharp in Plainview. If you don't catch us there we will be in Nelson, Wis at 12:30. After that you'll have a hard time finding us because we're going off the beaten path for some of the most scenic riding this area has to offer. I found a bar owner that said we can do anything but the dog! If it's warm enough we can camp out behind the bar, if not there is a clean, dry, warm place for us to sleep inside. We'll have a chase truck to haul some shit, and your chopper if it breaks. Don't plan on being home until Sunday! See you then!
