Progress.

This weekend I was able to work on the bike pretty much all day Saturday. We came to the conclusion that having a running bike by Friday was not going to happen anymore. Sometimes life does not give a fuck about your plans. So instead now the goal is to have the bike just look like a bike. Could use a little Chopper God help on getting my paint done. I am a glass half empty guy, so it looks like I will be just getting drunk this weekend and telling tall tales.

Smooth Jugs and old lube

Last night we got the cylinders and pistons installed. It seems like baby steps but we keep finding things that need to be replaced. The original shop manual had some great pointers. such as "reassembly is essentially the reverse of disassembly" Thanks for the tip.

Dont forget on old motors you can only put old oil in. 40,000 years in the earth before it got in the bottle, right Noot?

I Got The Shaft

Sucks gettin the shaft right noot?? Going to put this shorter mainshaft in this tranny to get rid of this outer bearing carrier deal. This will move the clutch hub inward on my flathead. I need to get the motor sprocket in closer to the engine!

On your Big Inch Twin Cam there is some power to be found in enlarging these breathers. I've found 2-3Hp here. Take it for what it is...

Progress.

Was able to get the bottom end back in the bike this weekend. Also dialed in the rear fender and sissy bar. Working on mocking up the bars and have some more tweaking to do. I also clearly need to lose some weight cause I look like a monster on this thing.

Well it only took all winter bit i finally got myself setup to do some polishing and made a little progress on the '39. Im not done with this hub by any means but it is starting to show a little shine.
